What to expect when getting braces off your teeth?

Preparing for braces removal

Many patients are nervous about their braces removal appointment. However, the process is fairly straightforward and there are a few ways you can prepare the day of your appointment. First, consider taking an over-the-counter pain medication like ibuprofen to help mitigate any pain from the removal process. While most patients don’t experience severe pain during removal, it’s best to come prepared if the anticipation of pain is giving you anxiety.

Second, be sure to clean your braces and brush your teeth prior to your visit. Remember that you may experience some teeth sensitivity afterwards, as well. So consider investing in a toothpaste or mouthwash for sensitive teeth.
